Well travelers, for those of you who already went on spring break I hope it was as wonderful as mine!

Some highlights of my trip to Los Angeles:
The apartment we were staying is was PRIME location for walks on Hollywood Boulevard and the Sunset Strip!

I spent several hours walking up and down both streets, popping into tourist shops, celeb hotspots and taking pictures of stars (the ones on the sidewalk not in real life).

I was lucky enough to have a single celebrity sighting of Anthony Michael Hall stopped next to us at a red-light in a sexy sports-car.

I highly reccommend a few places if you are ever in the LA area. Joan’s on Third

is a DELICIOUS gourmet cafe (a favorite of celebrities like Jake Gyllenhaal) that won’t break your bank. They have everything from sandwiches and salads to cupcakes and pastries

I mentioned before that we spent a considerable amount of time in Venice beach area. Perfect place to buy interesting and original artwork.
My final favorite place of the week is The Grove. Its this neat little outdoor shopping mall/plaza/thing. However if you follow it around the corner to the Farmer’s market you will find the most amazing selection of foods! The entire thing looks like a european outdoor market. My roommate indulged herself is some spicy New Orleans style gumbo with pepper cornbread while I opted for a delicious italian style meat lasagna. We followed dinner with a giant slice of red velvet cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory while sitting on a bench outside the dancing fountains.

All in all, I cannot wait for my next trip to Los Angeles, and hope its sooner rather than later!

Today’s activities included sleeping in and walking the boardwalk at Venice Beach. A place I’m pretty sure I could live for ever.

Although we were slightly misled in the weather forecast and my girls and I had goosebumps covering our bodies from the wind, the street vendors, performers, dogs, artists and skaters were the perfect distraction from the cloudy skies and light winds.

I spent most of my day around the famous skatepark right on the water (which gave me an insane urge to re-watch Lords of Dogtown), watching locals rollerblade and skate and watching the other half of the park be sandblasted and de-grafitied.

Other really fun aspects of the boardwalk are Muscle Beach, The Freakshow, the old America’s Next Top Model house and tons of delicious restaurants and shops.

Four treacherously long days, a Press Kit project and a single midterm separate me from the glorious spring break and beautiful weather of Los Angeles.

It’s going to be a long week folks.

I have days to wander around the land of Hollywood, and no worries, I will be blogging whenever I get the time. But I want to give you all the opportunity to tell me what you want me to do. What things in LA have you always wanted to know about?

I for sure am excited for the famous Double-Double at In & Out Burger. (even though I already know how wonderful they taste) As well as a stroll on Venice beach, the celebrity house tour and some chicken place my professor recommended me….remind me to get that name again.

Other than that, my week is free for clubs, restaurants, museums and anything else we can think of. So help me plan my trip please?

And stick around on the site for the next few days where I will be chronicling the best ways to get ready for a vacation, packing tips, more airport tips and of course, my experience going through the new TSA security for the first time.
